Influenza vaccination is recommended every year (in autumn) for patients aged 65 and over in addition to those within at-risk groups specified by the Department of Health. Specific clinics are set up each year and eligible patients are actively encouraged to make an appointment but please ask your GP or nurse if you are unsure.
Family carers (registered with the practice) will also be offered this vaccination service.
We are unable to give flu vaccines to those patients outside the at-risk groups due to limited vaccine supplies.
However, on certain occasions, based on current guidelines and related demand, surplus vaccines may become available and offered to all patients outside the at-risk groups at the discretion of the Partners.
Please ask reception/Nurse for details of alternative retail pharmacies who can offer this vaccination service, for which there will be a charge.
Pneumococcal vaccines are offered to those 65 and over in the at-risk groups.
